When it comes to scouting young talent from across Europe, few clubs match Borussia Dortmund’s reputation. From Mario Götze, Robert Lewandowski, and Ilkay Gündogan to recent stars like Erling Haaland and Jude Bellingham, the German side has consistently identified and nurtured future stars. Now, another promising name is set to join that impressive list.
This time, it’s a familiar name—Jobe Bellingham, the younger brother of Real Madrid’s midfield sensation Jude Bellingham. While Jude made his name at Dortmund before moving to Madrid two seasons ago, Jobe appears to be following a similar path.
According to Sky Germany, Sunderland’s young midfielder is on the verge of completing a move to Borussia Dortmund, with a reported fee of around €30 million. Another Bundesliga club, Eintracht Frankfurt, were also interested in the 18-year-old, but Jobe has reportedly made it clear he only wants a move to Dortmund. Negotiations are ongoing between Sunderland and the German club to finalize the transfer fee.
However, German outlet Bild reports that Sunderland are holding firm on a €40 million valuation and are not willing to let Jobe go for anything less. Dortmund’s initial bid remains at €30 million.
Jobe played a key role in Sunderland’s campaign this season, helping guide the club back to the Premier League after a seven-year absence. He started 43 matches, scored 3 goals, and provided 4 assists. Known for his composure and ability to control the tempo of matches, Jobe has already been identified as a key part of Dortmund’s long-term plans.
