Kyrgios pulls out of Wimbledon following injury setback

Nick Kyrgios has announced he will miss Wimbledon and the entire grasscourt season after experiencing a minor setback in his recovery from injury.

The 30-year-old Australian, who has battled a series of foot, knee, and wrist injuries since reaching the Wimbledon final in 2022, has played only four singles matches this year. Though he secured his first singles win since 2022 at the Miami Open in March, Kyrgios later withdrew from the French Open due to ongoing knee issues.

“I’ve hit a small setback in my recovery and unfortunately won’t make it back for the grass season this year,” Kyrgios shared on social media.

“I know how much you’ve all been looking forward to seeing me out there, and I’m genuinely sorry to disappoint. This is just a bump in the road, and I’m already working hard to come back stronger than ever.”

Wimbledon, the third Grand Slam of the season, begins on June 30.
