Paris Saint-Germain delivered a commanding performance on Monday night as they brushed aside Inter Miami 4-0 in the Last 16 of the FIFA Club World Cup, underlining their intent to finally capture the elusive global title.

Luis Enrique’s side was in control from the first whistle, with goals from Kylian Mbappé, Ousmane Dembélé, Vitinha, and Marco Asensio sealing a comprehensive win over the MLS outfit, led by former Barcelona icon Lionel Messi.

Mbappé opened the scoring in the 14th minute with a clinical finish after a slick one-two with Kang-In Lee. Dembélé doubled the lead just before halftime with a powerful drive from the edge of the box, leaving Inter Miami goalkeeper Drake Callender with no chance.

The second half saw PSG shift gears even further, with Vitinha curling home a third in the 61st minute. Asensio added the fourth in the closing moments following a mistake in Miami’s defense.

Despite the presence of Messi, who was welcomed warmly by fans in Jeddah, Inter Miami struggled to break through PSG’s disciplined backline, and managed just one shot on target throughout the match.

Manager Reactions:

Luis Enrique, PSG Head Coach: “It was a complete performance. We respected our opponent and executed our game plan perfectly. The players were focused, and now we turn our attention to the quarterfinals.”

Tata Martino, Inter Miami Head Coach: “We knew the level of competition here would be high. PSG are one of the best teams in the world. We’ll take this experience back with us and continue to grow.”

With this victory, PSG advance to the quarterfinals, where they await the winner of Al Ahly vs. Ulsan Hyundai. The French champions remain one of the tournament favorites as they chase their first Club World Cup title.
