Fouzi Lekjaa, president of the Moroccan Football Federation, has stated that the 2030 World Cup final will take place in Casablanca. In an interview with the Spanish news agency EFE, Lekjaa expressed confidence that the city would host the tournament’s championship match, although FIFA has yet to issue an official confirmation regarding the venue.
To accommodate the event, the Grand Stade Hassan II is currently under construction in the Benslimane region, located 60 kilometers from Casablanca. The massive project, which carries an estimated cost of 12 billion dollars, is designed to hold a capacity of 115,000 spectators.
While Spain and Morocco have been engaged in a competitive bid to host the final, Lekjaa’s recent comments underscore Morocco’s strong position. The 2030 tournament will be a historic milestone, marking the first time the competition is held across six countries and three continents. Following opening matches in Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay, the primary tournament will be hosted by Morocco, Portugal, and Spain.
