The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has officially approved a new, unified domestic cricket structure featuring six teams. This framework will consolidate first-class, List A one-day, and T20 competitions under a single, integrated platform. Ownership for these six teams will be awarded to established corporate and financial institutions in Bangladesh, with initial agreements lasting for three years. Reports indicate that leading corporate houses have already secured these ownership slots.
The inaugural event under this new organizational model is scheduled to be a T20 tournament, with a tentative launch window set for December 2026. The BCB confirmed that this decision, reached in principle by the board, aims to streamline domestic play across the three major formats.
As part of this overhaul, the board also authorized significant updates to match fee structures for both men’s and women’s domestic circuits, following recommendations from the Working Committee. For men, match fees have been set at Tk 1.5 lakh for four-day games, Tk 1 lakh for one-day matches, and Tk 80,000 for T20s, while National Cricket League 2nd XI players will earn Tk 15,000 per match.
The board also established revised remuneration for women’s cricket, setting match fees at Tk 40,000 for three-day matches, Tk 30,000 for one-day contests, and Tk 20,000 for T20 fixtures. Furthermore, the daily allowance for the Bangladesh Under-19 team will see a substantial increase, doubling from Tk 10,000 to Tk 20,000.
