Mohammedan Sporting Club and Bashundhara Kings marked the opening of the Federation Cup with impressive wins. Mohammedan secured a 3-1 victory against Arambagh at the Gopalganj District Stadium, while Bashundhara Kings dominated Dhaka Wanderers with a 5-0 win at the Shaheed Bir-Sreshtho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj. In another match held the same day at the Shaheed Miraj-Tapon Stadium in Manikganj, Police FC and City Club ended their contest in a 1-1 draw.

Mohammedan, having already started their football league season with a 1-0 win against Fakirerpool, continued their positive momentum by securing three points in Group B. The match against Arambagh proved challenging early on, as Mohammedan conceded a goal in the 16th minute to Ghanaian midfielder Suraj Rayis. After failing to find an equalizer in the first half, Mohammedan shifted the tide in the second period. Sourav Dewan leveled the score in the 57th minute, followed by a go-ahead goal from Mohammad Sohel Rana in the 74th minute. Souleymane Diabate sealed the 3-1 victory with a goal during stoppage time. Mohammedan took eight shots on target throughout the match, while Arambagh managed only two.

Elsewhere, the five-time champions Bashundhara Kings showed renewed form in the Federation Cup after a lackluster league opener against Arambagh. In Group B, they maintained control over Dhaka Wanderers throughout the match, holding over 60 percent of possession. Although the first half remained goalless, the Kings erupted in the second half with five goals. Robinho opened the scoring in the 47th minute, followed by a brace from midfielder Sabbir Hossain, with Alamgir Molla and Mohammad Abdullah also contributing to the tally. The Kings applied immense pressure, recording 16 shots at the Wanderers’ goal, seven of which were on target.
