Visa Delays Force Postponement of Bangladesh U-19 Cricket Tour

The Bangladesh Under-19 cricket team has been forced to postpone its scheduled trip to Oman, where they were set to compete in a five-match Youth ODI series against Afghanistan. The delay stems from a failure to secure the necessary travel visas in time for the team’s planned departure. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) officially announced the postponement in a press statement issued on Saturday, October 10.

Status of Visa Coordination and Series Logistics

According to the BCB, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB), which serves as the organizer for this series, has informed them that they are still awaiting formal authorization from the relevant authorities in Oman. The visa application process, initiated in early September, is being managed directly by the ACB, placing the coordination outside of the BCB’s direct control. Despite this setback, the BCB has confirmed that the national U-19 squad remains fully prepared and focused, with travel logistics expected to be finalized immediately once the visas are issued.

Tournament Schedule and Team Roster

The series was initially slated to begin on October 13, with subsequent matches scheduled for October 15, 18, 20, and 23. The Bangladesh U-19 squad includes the following players

  • Farihad Hasan Faisal (Captain), Abdullah Al Muhi, Ahsan Al Mumin, Al Amin Hossain Roni, Al Rafi, Farhan Sadiq, Kawsar Ahmed, Al Amin Hossain, Shakil Khan, Meherab Hasan Sijan, Rakibul Hasan, Rabiul Hasan Onik, Rubai Islam Rizon, Sheikh Atiqur Rahman Akash, and Sheikh Zarif Siam.
