The Kerala Overseas Cricketers (KOC) squad is set to depart for Bengaluru on October 23, 2026, as they prepare for the 12th annual Friendship Cup. The event is scheduled to take place the following day, October 24, at the Kini Cricket Ground in Bidadi. The upcoming competition will see the KOC face off against the Kerala Veterans Cricketers (KVC), with a total of two matches planned for the tournament.
Established in 2013, the KOC initiative was founded to unite former Kerala cricketers under a single banner, providing a space for them to reconnect and pursue their passion for the sport through competitive matches. The tournament has maintained this tradition of fostering camaraderie and nostalgia for over a decade, with ongoing support from the Kerala Cricket Association (KCA). The concept of KOC became a reality in 2013 with the objective of bringing former Kerala cricketers together under one umbrella.
Leadership for this year’s traveling squad falls to Biju Thomas, who will serve as captain, while Balaji Narayanan takes on the role of vice-captain. Organizers noted that the 2026 edition aims to deliver another significant event, reuniting former teammates and rivals on the pitch to celebrate the enduring spirit of the game.
The successful coordination of this year’s tour has been made possible through the backing of key sponsors, including Kappal Logistics, Grand, Honest Steel FZCO, and Zeens Business Center. Their contributions remain vital to hosting the event and facilitating this annual gathering of state-level talent.
