Bangladesh U-19 lost their series lead against Afghanistan U-19 in Oman after suffering a six-wicket defeat in the fourth ODI at Al Amerat. Despite taking an initial 2-0 advantage in the series, the young Tigers suffered back-to-back losses, allowing Afghanistan to draw level.
Batting first after winning the toss, Bangladesh managed 219 for 9 in their 50 overs. The top order faltered early with the quick dismissals of Abdullah Al Muhi and Kawsar Ahmed. Captain Farid Hasan Faisal anchored the innings with a patient 82 off 145 balls. He rebuilt the innings through a 49-run partnership with Al Amin Hossain, who made 29 before being dismissed by Lutfullah Mohammadi. Al Mumin added 23 off 41 balls, while Rabbi Hasan Anik scored a quickfire 29 off 22 balls late in the innings.
Afghanistan’s run chase also got off to a shaky start, losing Abidullah Nadarjan to Al Amin in the seventh over and Faridullah Ihsas to Farhan Sadik shortly after the powerplay. Reduced to 39 for 2, Subhan Ali and Noman Salarzai stabilized the innings. Anik broke the partnership by removing Noman for 24 off 34 balls. Subhan went on to score a crucial 60 off 81 balls to keep Afghanistan on track.
Al Amin later removed Faisal, who made 18 off 14 balls, while skipper Sohail Khan chipped in with 18 before departing near the finish line. Taher held the lower order together, posting an unbeaten 67 off 76 balls to seal victory for Afghanistan with 11 balls to spare. Al Amin was the standout bowler for Bangladesh, picking up two wickets.
