After parting ways with Andre Adams, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has officially appointed Australian pace star Shaun Tait as the new bowling coach of the national team, putting an end to weeks of speculation.
Upon signing the contract, Tait said, “It’s a great time to be involved with Bangladesh cricket — a bit of a new era. People often talk about the raw talent of Bangladeshi pacers, and that’s a positive sign. The goal in international cricket is to turn talent into results and focus on winning. I’m excited to work alongside head coach Phil Simmons.”
A former fast bowler, Shaun Tait played 3 Tests, 35 ODIs, and 21 T20Is for Australia, and was part of the 2007 World Cup-winning squad. He also served as the pace bowling coach for the Pakistan national team in 2022 and previously worked with Afghanistan as their bowling coach.
In the 2024–25 season of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), Tait coached Chittagong Kings to a second-place finish in the league stage. He played a key role in developing young pacers, particularly Hasan Mahmud, Shoriful Islam, and Khaled Ahmed.
