On Monday, Al Nassr secured a record-breaking 9–0 victory against Al Okhdood in the Saudi Pro League at the Prince Hathloul bin Abdulaziz Sports City Stadium — and they did it without their star player, Cristiano Ronaldo.
Although Al Nassr is no longer in contention for the league title, this emphatic win has lifted them to third place in the standings, with 63 points from 31 matches.
The win is now the biggest in the club’s history, surpassing their previous best, an 8–0 The thrashing of the Abha Club last season.
Captain Cristiano Ronaldo was not included in the matchday squad. According to media reports, head coach Stefano Pioli opted to rest him due to physical fatigue. However, Ronaldo’s absence did nothing to slow Al Nassr’s dominance.
Ayman Yahya opened the scoring in the 16th minute. John Durán and Marcelo Brozović added two more goals within the first 30 minutes to make it 3–0.
Just before halftime, Sadio Mané converted a penalty to notch his first of the match, sending Al Nassr into the break with a 4–0 lead.
Right after the restart, Durán scored his second, and then Mané went on a scoring spree, netting three consecutive goals to complete a hat-trick and bringing his total to four for the night.
Late in the game, Mohammed Maran scored from the penalty spot to seal the 9–0 result.
With this dominant performance, Al Nassr proved that even without their talisman, Ronaldo, they remain a formidable force capable of dismantling any opponent.
