Tamim-Rishadh for the United Arab Emirates

by Sports Desk

Bangladesh was scheduled to play a five-match T20I series against Pakistan this May. However, recent tensions between India and Pakistan have cast doubt over the series taking place. In the meantime, before that potential series, the Bangladesh team, led by Litton Das, is set to play two T20 matches against the United Arab Emirates.

On Wednesday (14 May), the team departed for the UAE in two separate groups. The first group of players boarded a flight at 10 AM, while the rest of the squad is scheduled to leave at 7 PM. A total of ten players traveled in the first group, though captain Litton Das was not among them.

According to the schedule, the matches will be played on May 17 and 19 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. Both games will begin at 9 PM Bangladesh time.

This series marks the beginning of Bangladesh’s full-fledged preparations for the 2026 T20 World Cup. It is also the first assignment for newly appointed captain Litton Kumar Das. He will be supported by Sheikh Mahedi Hasan as his deputy, although Mahedi’s role as vice-captain is not on a full-time basis.
