Cristiano Jr. has officially made his debut for Portugal’s U-15 national team. On Tuesday, he featured in a match against Japan U-15, where Portugal secured a 4–1 victory. Although Cristiano Jr. didn’t score, the team delivered a strong performance.
The standout player of the match was Rodrigo Cabral, who stole the spotlight with a hat-trick by the 49th minute, giving Portugal a 3–0 lead. Portugal extended the lead to 4–0 in the 73rd minute, before Japan pulled one back in the 82nd.
Cristiano Ronaldo has made the number seven jersey iconic in world football, and now his son is following in his footsteps. Like in his academy days, Cristiano Jr. wore the number seven jersey for his national team debut. However, he didn’t start the game and came on as a substitute in the 53rd minute.
While Ronaldo couldn’t be present to witness his son’s debut, Cristiano Jr.’s grandmother, Maria Dolores—Ronaldo’s mother—was in the stands to support her grandson.
Cristiano Jr. is 14 years old and currently plays for the Al Nassr academy. He is notably tall and physically fit for his age and operates as a forward. Though he’s eligible to represent Spain, England, or the United States, he has chosen to play for Portugal.
