In February this year, sportswear brand ‘Dour’ signed its first-ever sponsorship deal with the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) as the official kit sponsor for the national football team. At the start of their partnership, the brand launched Bangladesh’s first-ever away jersey. Now, they have revealed the new home jersey, which features a fresh look dominated by white instead of the traditional red and green.
Yesterday (Thursday), ‘Dour’ officially announced the launch of the new home jersey for the national team through a press release. They also shared a video on social media showing players Jamal Bhuiyan, Tapu Barman, and Tariq Kajee wearing the new kit. The reveal sparked mixed reactions among Bangladeshi football fans online.
In their statement, ‘Dour’ expressed pride in unveiling the new home jersey. They said, “The wait is over. We are proud to present the new home jersey for the Bangladesh national football team. This is more than just fabric and weaving—it’s a statement. A heartbeat exchanged between us all. A symbol that unites us, whether we are on the pitch, cheering from the stands, or celebrating from home.”
“No matter where you are, when you wear this jersey, it means you are chasing the same dream. A dream of progress, a relentless fighting spirit, and making it happen.”
This time, white takes centre stage in the home jersey’s design, a shift from the usual red and green dominance. Last month, ‘Dour’ released Bangladesh’s away jersey featuring a strong red colour. The new home kit introduces a distinct change in the shoulder design. The front and back panels are mostly white, with green accents on the upper sleeves, and red borders outlining the design. The ‘V’-shaped collar blends red and green, and the lower sleeves incorporate a fusion of the national flag’s colours.
The Bangladesh team is expected to debut the new home jersey on June 10 at 7 PM during their AFC Asian Cup third-round qualifier match against Singapore at the National Stadium in Dhaka (formerly known as Bangabandhu Stadium). The team’s away debut was marked by English Premier League player Hamza Dewan Chowdhury’s first appearance against India. Another Canadian-born player, Samit Somers, is set to make his home debut in the upcoming match.
Overall, there is significant excitement among fans about the upcoming home fixture. However, reactions to the predominantly white home jersey have been mixed, with some fans appreciating the fresh design and others offering differing opinions. Supporters interested in New Jersey can purchase it from Dour’s official website at a price of BDT 1399.
