Qalandars Camp Excited for Bangladeshi Brother

by Sports Desk

Shakib Al Hasan has embarked on a new chapter in his career by joining Lahore Qalandars in the ongoing season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Upon arriving in Pakistan, the star all-rounder received a warm and heartfelt welcome from the Qalandars camp. He wasn’t just embraced as a player but celebrated as a “Bangladeshi brother” and “the best all-rounder in the world” by the franchise’s owner, Sameen Rana.

“We, the Lahore Qalandars family, feel truly honored to welcome our brother from Bangladesh and the best all-rounder in the world, Shakib Al Hasan,” said Sameen Rana. “His performances and statistics speak for themselves.”

While Shakib has played in the PSL before, this marks his first stint with Lahore Qalandars. His arrival just ahead of a crucial playoff phase has thrilled the team management. Sameen revealed that they had tried to bring him in during PSL’s sixth edition but it didn’t materialize due to scheduling conflicts.

“Many may not know this,” Rana added, “but we had actually picked Shakib in the draft during Season 6. Unfortunately, he couldn’t join us then. This time, we finally made it happen.”

Despite being added late in the tournament, Shakib didn’t hesitate. He agreed to join the side as soon as the offer came. Rana expressed his joy at seeing the veteran arrive after a long journey from the U.S., saying, “You had just left Dubai a few days ago and then came all the way from the United States. Yet here you are, smiling and full of energy just like always.”

Lahore Qalandars are set to face Peshawar Zalmi tonight (Sunday) at 9:00 PM Bangladesh time, and there’s a strong possibility Shakib will feature in the match.
