The schedule for two crucial Serie A title-deciding matches has been changed.
The matches — Napoli vs Cagliari and Inter Milan vs Como — will now be played simultaneously on Friday May 23, instead of Sunday May 25, as originally planned.
Napoli currently sit at the top of the Serie A table with 79 points closely followed by Inter Milan with 78 points. With just a single point separating them these matches will be decisive in determining the league champion.
If Napoli defeat Cagliari they will reclaim the Serie A title regardless of other results. However, even if Napoli lose they could still win the title — but only if Inter also lose to Como.
On the other hand for Inter to retain their title they must win their match and hope that Napoli drop points.
If both teams draw they will be tied on points and the title will be decided in a playoff match which could take place on May 26.
It’s worth noting that Inter Milan are also set to play in the UEFA Champions League final against PSG on May 31.
