Bangladesh will face Singapore in a home match of the Asian Cup Qualifiers on June 10. In preparation for that, the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) has moved the final round of the Bangladesh Premier League fixtures forward by 48 hours to accommodate the national team’s training camp.
The revised fixture list, signed by BFF President Tabith Awal and Senior Vice President and League Committee Chairman Imrul Hasan, has already been sent to the clubs.
Originally, all five matches of the final round were scheduled for May 29. Now, four of those matches will be played on May 27. Only the match between Chittagong Abahani and Fortis FC will take place as scheduled on May 29. The rescheduling was done to allow the national team camp to begin earlier than initially planned.
The previous plan was to begin the national camp on May 31, but with the league matches brought forward, the camp will now start on May 30. Players from the eight clubs playing on May 27 will get two days of rest before joining the national team, which is expected to support better preparation.
Ahead of the June 10 qualifier, BFF is also arranging a friendly match against Bhutan, scheduled for June 4 at the Bangabandhu National Stadium. Bhutan is expected to arrive in Bangladesh on either June 1 or 2.
