Ancelotti Drops Rodrygo From Brazil

by Sports Desk

After bidding an emotional farewell to Real Madrid, Carlo Ancelotti is set to take charge of the Brazil national team. The Italian coach began preparing for his new role immediately after managing his final match on the sidelines for the Spanish giants.

Ancelotti is expected to make his debut as Brazil’s head coach in the upcoming international break with a match against Ecuador. But even before his official start, he is set to make a surprising decision in his first squad selection.

While familiar Real Madrid faces like Vinicius Junior, Eder Militao, and Endrick are expected to be included, one notable omission will be Rodrygo Goes.

According to journalist Tati Mantovani (Madrid Extra), Rodrygo is not currently in Ancelotti’s plans. The decision to leave him out has reportedly been made based on both physical and mental considerations.

Rodrygo has not been at his best this season, and toward the end of the campaign, he lost his spot in the starting lineup due to Ancelotti’s tactical adjustments. This led to a dip in both his confidence and overall mental state.

As a result, Ancelotti believes the best course of action is to give Rodrygo a break from international duty in June. Despite working together for years at Real Madrid, the Italian coach now sees rest and recovery as more important for Rodrygo — allowing him to regain form and return mentally refreshed ahead of the new season.
