A group of Bangladesh national cricketers, led by captain Litton Das, departed from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Thursday evening, heading toward the Asian Games. The traveling party includes notable players such as Najmul Hossain Shanto, Hasan Mahmud, Tanzid Hasan Tamim, and Shoriful Islam, along with several members of the coaching staff. The remainder of the squad is scheduled to depart early Friday morning.
Addressing the team’s ambitions at the airport, pace bowling coach Talha Jubair expressed confidence in the squad’s ability to win gold. Jubair also provided an update on Shanto, who had missed recent preparation matches in Mirpur due to a minor injury on his left little toe, confirming that the batsman is now fully fit to compete.
Bangladesh is set to play its opening match of the tournament on September 28 at 11:00 AM. Their opponent remains undecided, as the team will face the winner of the Group B qualifiers, which features Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Oman. Should they emerge victorious in this opening contest, Bangladesh will advance to the semifinal scheduled for October 1 at 11:00 AM, with the final match slated for October 3.
