Bangladesh Football Federation Announces 23-Member Squad for 20th Asian Games

The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) has officially unveiled its 23-member squad for the 20th Asian Games, set to take place in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. The selection process has resulted in significant changes to the lineup that competed in the recent SAFF championship, with four players dropped, one new addition, and three returning to the national fold.

Arpita Biswas has earned her first spot in the senior national squad. Although she traveled with the team to Goa, India, last May, she did not make an appearance on the pitch, making the Asian Games a potential venue for her international debut. Meanwhile, midfielder Munki Akter and defenders Irin Khatun and Nabiran Khatun have been recalled to the team. Conversely, Surma Jannat, Halima Akter, Umehla Marma, and Sourav Akanda have been excluded from the roster.

To prepare for the tournament, the squad is scheduled to depart for China tonight. During this training camp, the team will play two warm-up matches against Guangzhou FC on September 7 and 10.

Final Squad Composition

  • Goalkeepers: Rupna Chakma, Swarna Rani, and Mili Akter.
