The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) is having a busy time as the national team prepares for the upcoming Asian Cup qualifier on June 10. As the national team’s activities ramp up, the ongoing domestic football season concludes today. Just two days later, the new season is set to begin. In this context, the Professional League Committee will meet today to discuss plans and schedules for the upcoming season.
The Professional League Committee will sit at 3:00 PM to outline their proposals for the new season. These proposals and recommendations will then be reviewed and finalized by the BFF Executive Committee in a meeting scheduled for 4:00 PM. Although the emergency executive meeting will primarily focus on matters related to the upcoming league, discussions about ticketing for the June 10 match may also arise.
Many members of the Executive Committee have yet to receive their tickets for the national team’s match. This shortage has sparked controversy within the federation itself, especially considering that genuine stakeholders in football and Executive Committee members are struggling to get tickets, while a social club and a mobile operator company have reportedly been granted large allocations. Questions are being raised about the transparency of the ticket distribution process and whether the federation’s interests are being properly safeguarded.
Before the Professional League Committee meets, the National Team Committee will hold a meeting at 2:00 PM. BFF President Tabith Awal himself chairs this committee.
The national team’s training camp begins tomorrow (Friday). Today’s meeting will cover various issues including the team’s budget and coaching staff. The one-hour session will be followed by the League Committee meeting. Notably, the League Committee meeting was originally scheduled for yesterday but had to be postponed due to severe traffic congestion in Dhaka and was rescheduled for today at 3:00 PM.
