Tait is the Tigers’ new pace bowling coach

The rumors have finally proven true. After Andre Adams, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has appointed former Australian fast bowling star Shaun Tait as the new pace bowling coach.

On Monday (12 May),The cricket governing body confirmed this in a statement.

Tait will join the team later this month and as per the contract, he will work with pacers like Taskin Ahmed and Nahid Rana until November 2027.

Regarding his contract with BCB, Tait said, “This is a great time to be associated with Bangladesh cricket, a bit of a new era. It is often said that pacers have the talent, and that’s a positive thing. In international cricket, the goal is to translate that talent into results and focus on winning. I am excited to work with Phil Simmons.”

Tait was a member of the Australian team that won the 2007 World Cup. He also worked as the pace bowling coach for the Pakistan national team in 2022 and has coached Afghanistan’s pacers.

In the 2024-25 season of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), Tait led Chittagong Kings to second place in the league stage. He played a key role in improving the skills of young pacers, particularly working with players like Hasan Mahmud, Shariful Islam, and Khaled Ahmed.
