Bangladesh women’s footballer Krishna Rani Sarkar delivered an impressive performance in the Bhutan Women’s National League, scoring a brace and earning the Man of the Match award. Her stellar contribution helped Transport United secure a dominant 8-0 victory over Ugyen Academy at the Changlimithang Stadium on Monday.
Krishna’s first goal came in the 55th minute when she skillfully dribbled past a defender and finished with a low shot. In the 78th minute, after Sunita’s initial shot was saved by the goalkeeper, Krishna capitalized on the rebound to score her second goal.
Additionally, two other Bangladeshi players, Masura Parveen (defender) and Rupna Chakma (goalkeeper), were part of the starting XI for Transport United. Rupna Chakma left the field with a clean sheet.
In another match on May 10, Thimphu City, featuring Maria Manda and Sanjida Akter, secured a win with 10 players, thanks to a goal from Maria Manda.
