Litton Not Satisfied With Victory

by Sports Desk

Bangladesh began their two-match T20I series against the UAE with a 27-run win but captain Litton Das was far from satisfied. Despite a century from opener Parvez Hossain Emon the rest of the batting lineup, including Litton himself failed to make significant contributions. The bowling performance also lacked consistency leaving the team short of expectations—especially against a comparatively weaker opponent.

The match was held on Saturday night at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. Despite batting on a good wicket, Bangladesh could manage only 22 runs in the final three overs—an area that clearly frustrated the captain.

“Of course (it was a good score). The wicket was really good for batting. The way Emon batted was excellent,” Litton said during the post-match presentation. “But we need to finish better. We couldn’t score enough in the last three overs.”

Even after posting 191 runs Bangladesh found themselves on the brink of a possible defeat. The UAE reached 131 for 3 and needed just 61 runs off 42 balls when Bangladesh’s bowlers finally regained control of the game. Litton however, didn’t hold back in praising his bowlers for their fightback.

“Definitely (credit to the bowlers). I know that my bowlers can bounce back at any moment. I’m well aware of our bowling strength. Credit must go to the UAE batters too—they played really well,” he added.
