Miraz Granted 4 Days for PSL

by Sports Desk

For the first time in his career, Bangladesh all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz has received an offer from a foreign franchise league — and it’s already greenlit. If all goes as planned, Miraz is set to make his Pakistan Super League (PSL) debut for Lahore Qalandars during the tournament’s closing stages.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) officially confirmed on Monday that Miraz has been granted a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to participate in the PSL playoffs from May 22 to May 25. In an official statement, the BCB said, “Mehidy Hasan Miraz has been given NOC from May 22 to May 25 to represent Lahore Qalandars in the ongoing PSL.”

Earlier in the day, a BCB Cricket Operations official told Dhaka Post that Miraz had applied for the NOC. It is believed that Lahore Qalandars approached Miraz as a replacement for Zimbabwean star Sikandar Raza, who is set to leave the tournament soon to join Zimbabwe’s squad for their upcoming Test against England.

Although the NOC covers only four days, that window coincides perfectly with the entire PSL playoff phase:

  • May 22: Eliminator match (Lahore Qalandars’ first playoff match)

  • May 23: Second Qualifier (if they win the eliminator)

  • May 25: Final (if they advance)

This means Mehidy Hasan Miraz will be eligible to participate in all of Lahore Qalandars’ playoff fixtures.

If everything goes smoothly, this will mark Miraz’s first-ever appearance in a foreign franchise league — a significant step forward in his career.
