Bangladesh-Pakistan Series Cut to Three

Liton Das’s team will play a three-match T20 series against the host Pakistan team on Pakistani soil. All the matches are set to take place at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. However, the final schedule for the series has not yet been confirmed, according to reports from Pakistani media.

Originally, Bangladesh and Pakistan were scheduled to face each other in an ODI series. But with the 2026 T20 World Cup approaching, both boards mutually agreed to hold the series in the T20 format instead. The five-match T20 series was initially planned to start on May 25 in Pakistan.

However, due to the India-Pakistan conflict, the series faced uncertainty. After a ceasefire was implemented, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) sent a revised schedule to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), which gave its approval following a green light from the interim government.

Although the initial plan was for a five-match T20 series, after meetings between PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi and BCB president Faruk Ahmed along with cricket operations chairman Najmul Abedin in Dubai, it was finalized to reduce the series to three matches.

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) final will be held on May 25, followed by the Bangladesh-Pakistan series. Meanwhile, the Bangladesh team is currently busy in the United Arab Emirates. They were originally scheduled to play two T20 matches against the UAE, but at BCB’s request, a third and final T20 match has been added, which will take place on May 21.
