The recent conflict between India and Pakistan had cast uncertainty over Bangladesh’s scheduled cricket tour to Pakistan, raising concerns about security. However, Bangladesh has now agreed to proceed with the tour.

To address the security measures and logistical arrangements clearly, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi held a meeting in Dubai with Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Faruq Ahmed and BCB Director and Chairman of Cricket Operations Nazmul Abedin Fahim.

In a statement, the PCB confirmed that the discussions were successful and that the BCB has agreed to send the team to Pakistan. In response, Chairman Naqvi expressed his gratitude to the BCB for their cooperation. The originally planned five-match T20I series has been reduced to a three-match series.

A revised schedule has also been announced. According to a post by the PCB on X (formerly Twitter), the series will begin on May 27, with the second and third matches scheduled for May 29 and June 1, respectively. All matches will be held at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium. A formal and detailed schedule is expected to be released soon.

Currently, the Bangladesh national team is engaged in a T20I series against the UAE, which is level at 1-1. The final match is set to be played tomorrow. It remains unclear whether the team will fly directly to Pakistan after the match or return to Bangladesh first before departing for the tour.
