Possible Bangladesh XI for Do-or-Die

by Sports Desk

Bangladesh will face the UAE in the third and final T20I with the series tied 1–1 after a narrow 2-wicket loss in the second match. As both teams head into the final clash, the match has effectively become an unofficial final. The high-stakes encounter will take place at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, starting at 9 PM local time.

This match carries extra importance for Litton Das, who is leading the national side for the first time as full-time captain. Naturally, he’ll be eager to avoid a series defeat, but history isn’t in his or Bangladesh’s favor.

Looking back, Bangladesh have only won a T20I series decider twice in the past seven years. The last such win came nearly three years ago against Zimbabwe on July 25, 2021. Before that, Bangladesh last won a decider over six years and nine months ago, against the West Indies.

Since then, despite multiple opportunities, Bangladesh have repeatedly failed in T20I series-deciding matches. However, Phil Simmons’ team is determined not to repeat those mistakes against the UAE this time.

As the pressure builds, several changes may be on the cards for Bangladesh’s playing XI. Parvez Hossain Emon, who missed the previous game due to a leg issue, may return. There’s also a possibility of Hasan Mahmud being brought back into the side.

As expected, Bangladesh are likely to field three pace bowlers and two spinners, with Shamim Patwari continuing as the side’s sole all-rounder.

Probable Bangladesh XI:

Parvez Hossain Emon, Tanzid Hasan Tamim, Litton Das, Towhid Hridoy, Zakir Ali Anik, Shamim Patwari, Rishad Hossain, Tanvir Islam, Hasan Mahmud, Shoriful Islam, Nahid Rana.
