Bangladeshi leg-spinner Rishad Hossain has returned to Pakistan to rejoin his Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise, Lahore Qalandars, right after wrapping up the T20I series against the United Arab Emirates. The franchise confirmed his arrival through their official social media platforms.
In an official video released by Lahore Qalandars, Rishad said: “Assalamu Alaikum everyone. I’m back with the Lahore Qalandars family. See you on the field. InshaAllah, we will win the title together.”
Lahore Qalandars have qualified for the PSL playoffs as the fourth-placed team and are set to face Karachi Kings in the Eliminator match today (May 22) at 9 PM Bangladesh time. If they win, they’ll move on to the Second Qualifier, where they’ll face the loser of the First Qualifier between Islamabad United and another top-ranked team. The Second Qualifier is scheduled for May 23 in Lahore, with the final to follow on May 25.
So far, Rishad has played five matches in this year’s PSL, taking nine wickets. Against Karachi Kings, he has been particularly effective, claiming four wickets in two matches, including a standout performance of 3 for 26 in four overs.
Two more Bangladeshi stars — Shakib Al Hasan and Mehidy Hasan Miraz — are also part of the Lahore Qalandars squad for this season.
