Three Bangladeshis Play Same PSL Franchise

by Sports Desk

Three Bangladeshi cricketers will represent the same franchise in this year’s Pakistan Super League (PSL), marking a rare and exciting development. Initially, three Bangladeshi players — Nahid Rana, Rishad Hossain, and Litton Das — were picked in the PSL auction. Later, two more — Shakib Al Hasan and Mehidy Hasan Miraz — were added to the list.

Rishad Hossain got a few opportunities to play for Lahore Qalandars, while Nahid Rana did not get a chance to feature for Peshawar Zalmi. Litton Das joined Karachi Kings, but a training injury forced him to return home before making his debut in the league.

Midway through the tournament, Lahore Qalandars signed Shakib Al Hasan and, just ahead of the playoffs, brought in Mehidy Hasan Miraz. With these additions, the Qalandars now have three Bangladeshi national teammates in their squad: Rishad, Shakib, and Miraz.

Ahead of Thursday’s crucial Eliminator match, Rishad has rejoined Lahore Qalandars. Both he and Nahid were previously stranded in Pakistan due to the India-Pakistan diplomatic standoff, which had briefly suspended both the PSL and the IPL. After a week-long break, the leagues resumed, but by then the two Bangladeshi players had already returned home. While Nahid’s Peshawar Zalmi has been eliminated, Rishad’s Lahore Qalandars remain in the competition — and he’s back with the squad.

Whether all three Bangladeshi players will feature in tonight’s high-stakes clash against David Warner’s Karachi Kings remains to be seen. If Lahore wins, they will advance to the second qualifier.
