England batter Heather Knight has been ruled out of the upcoming home summer due to a hamstring injury, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed on Thursday. However, there is hope she could recover in time for the ICC Women’s 50-over World Cup in India this September.

Knight, who played a key role in England’s recent 3-0 T20I series sweep over the West Indies with an unbeaten 66 in the final match at Chelmsford, appeared in discomfort late in the innings and did not take the field for the second half of the game.

“An MRI scan has revealed that Heather Knight has suffered a significant tendon injury to her right hamstring and will be ruled out of home international cricket and The Hundred in 2025,” the ECB said in a statement.

The board added that she will undergo further assessment with the England women’s medical team to determine the best course of treatment. While no specific timeline has been set for her return, the hope remains that Knight will be fit in time for the World Cup in September.

As a result, the former England captain will miss the upcoming ODI series against the West Indies and the tour of India scheduled for June and July.
