Rising military tensions between India and Pakistan, including recent missile and air strikes, have cast uncertainty over Bangladesh’s upcoming cricket tour of Pakistan. While the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has not made a final decision, it is closely monitoring the situation.

BCB’s immediate concern is the safety of two national players—Rishad Hossain and Nahid Rana—currently playing in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Both players are safe, and assurances have been received from the Pakistan Cricket Board and Bangladesh Embassy.

Despite the tensions, the PSL continues, though matches from May 7–10 have been moved to Rawalpindi. No foreign players have yet left the tournament, but their decisions could influence BCB’s final call.

Given the current situation, the BCB is now forced to reassess not only the safety of its players in the PSL but also the upcoming national team tour to Pakistan. Bangladesh is scheduled to play a five-match T20 series in Faisalabad and Lahore between May 25 and June 3. When asked about the status of the tour, BCB’s Nazmul Abedeen said, “We are continuing our preparations. We will monitor how the situation develops and decide accordingly. As with any board, we are in regular communication with the PCB. As of now, cricketing activities remain normal.”

Bangladesh is scheduled to play five T20Is in Pakistan from May 25 to June 3. Before that, they will face the UAE in a two-match T20 series in Sharjah on May 17 and 19. The team is set to travel to Dubai on May 14, with a tentative departure for Lahore on May 20.
