Lucknow Super Giants have been knocked out of the IPL playoff race.
On Monday May 19, Their hopes of advancing were ended after a six-wicket defeat to Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Earlier Chennai Super Kings, Rajasthan Royals, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Kolkata Knight Riders were also eliminated from playoff contention.
So far Gujarat Titans, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Punjab Kings have secured their spots in the playoffs. However one spot still remains up for grabs with a fierce battle underway between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals.
The crucial clash between Delhi and Mumbai will take place on May 21 (Wednesday) at the Wankhede Stadium. If Mumbai win they will confirm their place in the playoffs. If Delhi win they’ll keep their hopes alive but will still need to win their final match to qualify. On the other hand if Delhi lose, they must hope Mumbai lose their final match in order to reach the playoffs.
