England-Zimbabwe Test Clash After 22 Years

After 22 years, England and Zimbabwe have finally met again in Test cricket. The last bilateral Test series between the two sides took place in 2003, when Zimbabwe toured England for a two-match series. England won that series 2-0.

The much-anticipated Test began on Thursday at Trent Bridge in Nottingham, with the match starting at 4 PM Bangladesh time. Notably, this will be a four-day Test match.

Zimbabwe is eyeing history this time, having never defeated England in Test cricket. Skipper Craig Ervine expressed the team’s excitement and determination ahead of the game.

“It’s a huge moment for us—facing England in a Test match after 22 years,” said Ervine. “There’s extra energy and excitement within the team. We’ve never beaten England in a Test, and this time we want to make history. We want to create something new and we’re stepping onto the field with a winning mindset.”
