Just days after appointing Mike Hesson as head coach, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has made further changes to its coaching staff. The board has added two new coaches to strengthen the national team’s support unit.
Former Australian pacer Ashley Noffke has been named Pakistan’s new bowling coach, while Hanif Malik has been appointed as the batting coach, according to multiple Pakistani media outlets.
Although Noffke has no prior experience coaching at the international level, he has worked extensively in domestic and franchise cricket, including a stint with Big Bash League side Brisbane Heat. His addition to the Pakistan team marks his first involvement at the top level of international coaching.
As for Hanif Malik, he is known for his work in domestic cricket, particularly with young batting talents. Now, he steps up to a bigger stage as Pakistan’s batting coach.
The appointment comes at a critical time, as Pakistan’s batting lineup has been struggling with consistency. Despite the presence of several experienced batters, runs have been hard to come by. It will be a significant challenge for Hanif Malik, but he is reportedly ready to embrace it.
