Dayne “Da Hawaiian Hitman” Viernes successfully defended his Super Heavyweight title at Power Slap 25 on Friday, triumphing over Vasilii “Dumpling” Kamotskii before a capacity crowd at the Space42 Arena in Abu Dhabi. The headline clash, presented by Monster Energy, went the full five rounds, with judges ultimately awarding the victory to the defending champion via scores of 48-44, 47-45, and 47-45.
This encounter served as a rematch of their June 2025 bout at Power Slap 13, where Viernes initially captured the title by majority decision. Reflecting on the intense battle, Viernes acknowledged Kamotskii as his most formidable opponent to date and expressed interest in a potential trilogy fight. Power Slap CEO Frank Lamicella celebrated the event’s success, noting it achieved the promotion’s fastest sellout and largest attendance in the capital, and confirmed plans for a return next year. When Viernes claimed the Super Heavyweight Title by majority decision, the result saw Viernes retain his title against Kamotskii following the pair’s first meeting at Power Slap 13 in June 2025. The champion also welcomed the possibility of completing the trilogy between the pair, looking ahead.
The card also featured significant action in other divisions. Dakota “The Maritime Menace” McGregor, ranked No. 1, secured a standout second-round knockout victory against No. 3-ranked Reiley “Slap Shady” Montoya. Lamicella commended the performance as a remarkably clean knockout and signaled that a bright future awaits McGregor. Elsewhere, Louis “Razor” Robinson earned a win via second-round disqualification over Jujhar “Tiger” Singh, while Peter “The Aligator All G” Truchlik stopped Merlin “Action” Muusikus with a second-round knockout in the middleweight division. 1-ranked and former title challenger Dakota “The Maritime Menace” McGregor delivered one of the night’s standout moments, defeating No.
Power Slap 25 was held as a highlight of Abu Dhabi Showdown Week, continuing the organization’s tradition of hosting an annual marquee event in the UAE for the third consecutive year. The week-long celebration brought a variety of combat sports experiences to fans in the region, cementing the city’s status as a hub for international fighting events.
