Manchester City have reached an agreement to sign Netherlands international Tijjani Reijnders from AC Milan on a five-year contract worth €55 million ($62.6 million), a club source confirmed on Wednesday.
The 26-year-old midfielder joined Milan in 2023 and extended his contract until 2030 earlier this year. During his time at the San Siro, Reijnders made 104 appearances across all competitions, securing an Italian Supercup title.
He enjoyed a standout 2024–25 season, netting 15 goals and earning the accolade of Serie A’s Best Midfielder, despite Milan’s underwhelming eighth-place finish in the league.
Reijnders has also earned 22 caps for the Netherlands and is expected to strengthen City’s midfield following the departure of club legend Kevin De Bruyne. The Belgian star, who spent a decade at the Etihad, leaves behind a legacy that includes six Premier League titles, as well as Champions League and Club World Cup triumphs in 2023.
City concluded the 2024–25 campaign third in the Premier League, securing Champions League qualification on the final day. They will return to action in the FIFA Club World Cup, opening their campaign against Wydad AC on June 18, followed by group-stage matches against Al-Ain and Juventus.
