Manchester City have officially signed Dutch midfielder Tijjani Reijnders from AC Milan on a five-year deal, the club announced on Wednesday. The Netherlands international will be available for City’s campaign at the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup.
Although financial terms were not disclosed, a club source confirmed the fee to be around €55 million ($62.85 million).
“City are one of the biggest teams in the world, with the best coach, world-class players, and incredible facilities,” said Reijnders. “It’s a dream to play in the Premier League, especially at a club like this. I hope to help win many more trophies here.”
The 26-year-old joined Milan in 2023 and made 104 appearances, winning the Italian Super Cup and earning the Serie A Midfielder of the Season award. He had recently extended his contract with the Rossoneri until 2030 before completing his move to Manchester.
City’s Director of Football Hugo Viana praised the signing, saying: “He brings top-level European and international experience and will be a strong addition to our midfield.”
Reijnders becomes City’s fourth signing of the summer, following Rayan Ait-Nouri, Rayan Cherki, and Marcus Bettinelli.
The expanded 32-team FIFA Club World Cup will be held in the United States from June 14 to July 13, with $1 billion in prize money on offer.
