Footballers Receive Cars as Gifts for Qualifying for World Cup

by Sports Desk

For the first time in history, Uzbekistan’s footballers have qualified for the FIFA World Cup, and to celebrate this remarkable achievement, the players received brand-new cars as gifts from the country’s President, Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The official handover took place on the night of June 10, following their final World Cup qualifying match against Qatar.

Uzbekistan secured their historic spot in the FIFA World Cup on June 5 in Abu Dhabi, where a draw against the United Arab Emirates was enough to confirm their qualification for the tournament’s final stage. To recognize this incredible milestone, President Mirziyoyev promptly announced that each player would be rewarded with a new car.

The home match against Qatar on June 10 was chosen as the occasion to both celebrate their qualification and present the promised gifts. The players capped off the night with a commanding 3-0 victory, further elevating the celebratory mood.

The cars were lined up around the pitch before the match, ready to be handed over. As per the president’s earlier promise, each footballer received a “Champion” model electric vehicle manufactured by Chinese automaker BYD, a leading name in the electric car industry. The gifts were officially presented to the players after the game.
