Brazil Appoints Ancelotti With Huge Salary

by Sports Desk

Brazil’s long wait for Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti is finally over. After a previous failed attempt to bring him in, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) has now secured the services of one of football’s most successful managers. Ancelotti is officially set to take over as Brazil’s national team coach by the end of May, with stars like Vinícius Júnior and Rodrygo set to play under him from June onward.

According to BBC and Sky Italia journalist Fabrizio Romano, Ancelotti will assume the role around May 26 and has signed a contract that runs until the end of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. This appointment marks a historic moment for Brazilian football, as Ancelotti becomes the first full-time foreign head coach in the nation’s history.

The last time Brazil had a foreign coach was in 1965, when Argentine Filpo Núñez briefly held the role in a temporary capacity. Now, nearly 60 years later, Brazil will again play under the guidance of a non-Brazilian — this time, on a full-term basis. Ancelotti’s first assignment will be World Cup qualifiers in June against Ecuador and Paraguay.

Even before his appointment was confirmed, reports suggested that Ancelotti would become the highest-paid national team coach in history. That speculation has now been addressed by Spanish outlet Diario AS and Brazilian media outlet Globo.

Ancelotti has reportedly agreed to a monthly salary of $850,000 USD, amounting to an annual package of $10 million USD. In Bangladeshi currency, that equates to approximately 121.2 crore BDT per year, or roughly 10.3 crore BDT per month.

Despite his illustrious club career, this will be Ancelotti’s first time managing a national team. His club résumé is unmatched — he remains the only manager to have won league titles in all of Europe’s top five leagues and boasts a record five UEFA Champions League titles as a coach.

With this groundbreaking move, Brazil is betting on Ancelotti’s vast experience and tactical brilliance to lead the Seleção back to global glory.
