Ronaldo in the Fatal Fury game series!

by Sports Desk

We know Cristiano Ronaldo as the global football icon—wearing the iconic No. 7 jersey, rallying packed stadiums with thunderous chants, and celebrating goals with his signature “Siuuu!” shout.

But did you know that Ronaldo is no longer just a star of the football pitch? He’s now entering the world of fighting games!

Yes, it’s true—Ronaldo is joining Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, the long-awaited revival of the legendary fighting game series by Japanese developer SNK, returning 26 years after its last installment.

Back in March 2024, Ronaldo himself announced on Instagram that he would be featured in the new Fatal Fury game. For gamers who grew up in the ’90s, the name Fatal Fury is iconic, with its last edition, Mark of the Wolves, released in 1999. The new game officially launched on April 24, 2025—and this time, CR7 is part of the playable roster.

Ronaldo’s in-game character brings a football-inspired combat style—complete with magical ball kicks, sliding tackles, overhead kicks, and even deadly headers to take down opponents!

And his finishing move? He charges up a ball and smashes it into his opponent’s gut—like blasting a free-kick straight through a defensive wall!

The fun doesn’t stop there. After scoring a “KO” in the game, he even jumps and shouts his iconic “Siuuu!”—accompanied by a burst of lightning.

At first, many gamers were skeptical. “A footballer in a fighting game?” Some criticized the character design, saying it looked like a Ronaldo cosplay. But everything changed at the EVO tournament, where a player named Diaphone shocked everyone by winning the championship using Ronaldo.

Diaphone’s gameplay—mixing football attacks with confusing mix-ups and relentless headers—left even professional gamers stunned. It felt like the real-life Ronaldo’s aggressive, athletic style had been reimagined perfectly within the game.
