Roma to Appoint Klopp as Coach

Former Liverpool legend Jürgen Klopp is reportedly being lined up as the new head coach of Italian club AS Roma, following the departure of Claudio Ranieri. According to top Italian daily La Stampa, Roma is in advanced talks with the German tactician, and a deal may be close.

While no official confirmation has come from the club yet, several Italian sources claim that negotiations are nearly finalized — with Klopp having already given a green light to take over Roma’s dugout.

This news comes as a surprise to many, as Klopp had emotionally bid farewell to Liverpool only a few months ago, stating at the time that he was “tired” and wanted to take a long break from coaching. In his parting message to Liverpool fans, he had said, “I’m exhausted and I need to give myself time.”

However, Klopp may be making a quicker return to football than expected. Just under six months after his Liverpool exit, he signed with the Red Bull Football Group, where his role involved overseeing multiple club projects. That stint appears to have been short-lived, as fresh rumors suggest he’s now preparing to take charge of Serie A side Roma.

Klopp boasts an illustrious managerial record. He began his career with Mainz before rising to prominence at Borussia Dortmund, where he won multiple Bundesliga titles. His biggest achievements came at Liverpool, where he lifted the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup, and more — cementing his status as one of the game’s greatest managers.

As of now, neither AS Roma nor Klopp has issued an official statement, but if talks proceed smoothly, an official announcement could be made within the coming days.
