The eighth day of the French Open began under partly cloudy skies with a temperature around 20°C, providing ideal conditions for a packed schedule of fourth-round action.
Italian Jasmine Paolini, last year’s runner-up and the tournament’s fourth seed, faced 13th seed Elina Svitolina of Ukraine on Court Philippe-Chatrier.
Also in action were top women’s seed Aryna Sabalenka and defending men’s champion Carlos Alcaraz, both facing American opponents.
Later, four-time French Open champion Iga Swiatek was set to take on 12th seed Elena Rybakina.
