The ICC World Test Championship Final is set to take place from June 11 to 15 at Lord’s, where Australia will face South Africa. Ahead of the highly anticipated match, Cricket Australia has announced a 15-member squad, with the return of captain Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, and all-rounder Cameron Green.
Cameron Green makes his international comeback after a lengthy spell on the sidelines due to a spinal surgery he underwent during the summer. The 25-year-old marked his return to competitive cricket with a century in his first innings for Gloucestershire in English county cricket. While he is currently not bowling, his batting form has been impressive enough to earn a spot in the squad.
Josh Hazlewood played the first two Tests in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against India but was later ruled out due to a side strain. He is now recovering from a shoulder injury, but the selectors have still shown faith in his abilities by including him in the squad.
Pat Cummins, who played all five home Tests against India, missed the Sri Lanka tour due to a foot injury. However, he has fully recovered and is set to lead Australia in the final.
