Top-ranked Nelly Korda, world No. 2 Atthaya Thitikul, and No. 3 Lydia Ko are all chasing their first US Women’s Open title as the 80th edition of the Major tees off on May 29 at Erin Hills in Wisconsin.

Defending champion Yuka Saso, already a two-time winner, is aiming for a third title in five years. “Conditions here can be very difficult,” said Saso. “Winning again would be extra special and keeps me motivated.”

Korda, a two-time Major champion, is seeking the only Major title she hasn’t won. “It’s going to test everyone’s game—accuracy, patience, and mental strength,” she said. Weather and tough bunkers could also play a big role.

Thitikul, who recently won the LPGA Mizuho Americas Open, is focused on staying mentally strong. “It’s going to test my patience,” she said. “That’s the key.”

Ko, a three-time Major winner and Olympic champion, wants to add this elusive title to her resume. “I would love to be part of that US Women’s Open club,” she said.

With a challenging course and high stakes, the world’s best are bracing for one of the toughest tests in women’s golf.
