Delhi Capitals’ co-vice captain Faf du Plessis will remain with the team until the end of the ongoing IPL season. However, teammate Tristan Stubbs will not be available for the playoffs, having been called up to South Africa’s squad for the World Test Championship.
Although two South African stars have already joined the Delhi squad, another—Donovan Ferreira—will not be taking part in the remainder of the season. The all-rounder has withdrawn from IPL 2025 citing personal reasons. After Mitchell Starc, Ferreira is the second player to officially opt out of the Delhi side this season.
Delhi Capitals are currently in fifth place on the IPL points table, having won 6 out of their 11 matches. With three matches remaining, they must win all of them to secure a playoff spot.
The IPL was suspended following the match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals on May 9. The rescheduled game is set to be played on May 24.
