Liverpool have officially completed the signing of French forward Bradley Barcola from Paris St-Germain. The deal, which could reach a total value of £123m, consists of an initial payment of £106m with an additional £17m tied to performance-related add-ons. The final agreement also includes a provision for Liverpool to cover a solidarity payment that PSG owed to Lyon, Barcola’s former club.
The 23-year-old has committed to a five-year contract at Anfield, becoming the fifth major arrival this summer under manager Andoni Iraola. He joins a recruitment drive that has already seen the additions of Victor Munoz, Jeremy Jacquet, Ronald Araujo, and Ifeanyi Ndukwe. Barcola is expected to provide critical attacking depth following the exit of Mohamed Salah, the long-term injury to Hugo Ekitike, and ongoing speculation regarding the potential departure of Cody Gakpo.
Reflecting on the move, Barcola expressed his enthusiasm for the challenge: “It took a long time but I’m really happy today to be able to play for Liverpool and all I want is to be on the pitch and be able to play.” He added that his primary ambition is to help the team secure the Premier League title, noting, “I hope to achieve very big things… and to stay in this team in the long term – that’s why I signed a long contract.”
Barcola arrives at Anfield with an extensive trophy cabinet from his time in Paris, where he made 152 appearances and won three Ligue 1 titles, two Champions Leagues, two French Cups, the Uefa Super Cup, and the Fifa Intercontinental Cup. During his final season with PSG, he recorded 13 goals and seven assists across 49 matches. His international pedigree was further bolstered during the 2026 World Cup, where he featured in all eight of France’s matches and scored three goals during their run to the third-place play-off.
Known for his versatility, the forward can operate across the entire front line, though he expressed a preference for the left wing. He will wear the number 29 shirt for his new club. PSG had initially placed a valuation of £145m on the player, but negotiations ultimately settled on the current structure, concluding a significant transfer saga for the Merseyside club.
