Dilshan Madushanka delivered a stunning career-best bowling display at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, leading the Sri Lankan attack to dismantle Pakistan’s batting order. The left-arm pacer claimed 5 wickets for just 34 runs, playing a pivotal role in limiting the hosts to a modest total of 110. Following this clinical bowling performance, Sri Lanka comfortably chased down the target in just 18.1 overs, winning by 8 wickets to confirm their place in the tri-nation ODI series final.

Pakistan’s innings struggled from the start, and at one point, the hosts were reeling at 92 for 9. A brief 18-run partnership for the final wicket helped them limp to 110. Babar Azam top-scored for Pakistan with 29 runs, while Hasan Nawaz contributed 17 and captain Shaheen Shah Afridi added 15. Supporting Madushanka’s efforts, Sahan Arachchige claimed 2 wickets, with Asitha Fernando, Ishan Malinga, and Dunith Wellalage picking up one wicket each.

The run chase was equally impressive for the visitors. Kamindu Mendis anchored the pursuit with an unbeaten 62 off 60 balls, featuring eight boundaries and two sixes. Opener Avishka Fernando chipped in with 16 runs, and Pavan Rathnayake remained not out on 23 to complete the victory.

With two wins from three matches, Sri Lanka has officially qualified for the championship decider, where they will face Pakistan again. Before the title clash, the Lankans are set to play a final group-stage match against England this Thursday.
