Liton, Shanto Set For Pakistan Tour?

by Sports Desk

After a disappointing series loss against the United Arab Emirates, the Bangladesh national cricket team remains under scrutiny. There will be no rest for the squad, as they are set to depart for Pakistan from Dubai this Sunday to take on a strong side led by Salman Ali Agha in a three-match T20I series.

Meanwhile, two players from the UAE series — Soumya Sarkar and Nahid Rana — have returned to Dhaka, as they are not included in the squad for the upcoming tour. Nahid withdrew due to personal reasons, while Soumya has been ruled out with a back injury.

In light of Nahid Rana’s withdrawal, Mehidy Hasan Miraz has been added to the T20 squad. Conveniently, Miraz is already in Pakistan, currently playing in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Fellow Bangladeshi spinner Rishad Hossain is also in Pakistan for the same reason.

Additionally, left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman, who recently completed his stint with Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League (IPL), will fly directly from India to Pakistan to join the squad.

All three matches of the T20I series will be held at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore between May 28 and June 1. The series will kick off with the first T20I on May 28, followed by the second and third matches on May 30 and June 1, respectively. Each game will begin at 9:00 PM Bangladesh Standard Time.
