Tanzid Hasan Tamim Nominated for ICC Player of the Month

Bangladesh opening batter Tanzid Hasan Tamim has earned a nomination for the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award for July following a series of standout performances. He faces competition for the honor from West Indies all-rounder Justin Greaves and English batter Harry Brook.

Tamim proved to be a consistent force for Bangladesh during their white-ball series against Zimbabwe. In the three-match ODI series, he accumulated 159 runs at an average of 53 and a strike rate of 89.83. He maintained this form in the T20I format, scoring 140 runs across five matches at an average of 70 and a strike rate of 127.27.

West Indies all-rounder Justin Greaves is a primary contender after shining with both bat and ball. He scored a stellar 180 in the North Sound Test against Sri Lanka, helping his team secure a 1-0 series victory. In the following Test against Pakistan in Tarouba, he took 5/27 in the first innings and added two more wickets in the second to secure a win. Overall, Greaves recorded 215 runs and eight wickets in two July Tests.

England’s Harry Brook also earned a nomination for his explosive T20I performances against India, where he scored 229 runs in five matches at an average of 114.50 and a strike rate of 214.01. However, he struggled in the ODI format, managing only 31 runs across three matches. The ICC will select the winner from these three nominees based on their July performances.
